Apple Marketing vs. Microsoft Marketing

Apple has, for some time, been lauded for their excellent marketing. Their commercials are excellen, their print advertisements are impressive, and their packaging is outstanding. When purchasing a new iPod, one is struck by the simplicity and elegance of the box. It stands out from the crowd by being minimalistic.

A video has been making the rounds which compares Microsoft marketing to Apple marketing. The video shows what would be done to the iPod package if Microsoft were to market it. As it turns out, the video was actually done by a marketing company working for Microsoft as a humorous example of the challenges that Microsoft faces in its marketing efforts. If you're up for a good laugh take a look.

I have long been a fan of the Apple ads (especially the current ones with the guy who is a mac and the guy who is a pc - sheer genius). The video? Hilarious, and true.

That was good.

PS. I've been converted to the light side - I'm now the proud owner of a shiny new MacBook. It's lovely. I won't be getting rid of my desktop PC anytime soon, but I'm lovin' me some MacBook! :)

Random Question:
Have you ever upgraded to first class online or at a kiosk with Northwest?
