The Truck is Gone

Greetings blog readers! For my first post in March I wanted to celebrate the fact that my truck has been sold! I sold it to a nice gentleman named Mike after getting a few things repaired. I put a bit of money into it to get it back into good condition but in the end it was worth it.

The only real drama occurred the day that Mike was supposed to come down and test drive the vehicle. The check engine light - which had been on before - returned to give me grief. Needless to say, I was not happy. I took the truck over to Tuffy to have them take a look at it. It was there by 7:30 in the morning so I was hoping for a quick evaluation and repair. Unfortunately, Tuffy didn't get a chance to look at it until late afternoon. They diagnosed a problem with the EGR pressure valve. It was going to be a $250 repair and they couldn't do it until morning. Even then I was left to hope that the valve was the only problem. They thought it was but they couldn't guarantee it.

I spoke with Mike and explained the situation. He decided to come drive it anyway and liked the truck. He ended up making an offer for the truck without the repair being done. He had cash in hand and I jumped on it. He drove the truck away and I pocketed more cash than I've had in my pocket for quite awhile.

The truck was a great vehicle but I must say I'm glad to have it sold. Any vehicle has maintenance costs and its share of headaches and I'm not sad too have made a bit of money off it. Life is good!
